Our commitment
Ace Labs UG strives to make its website and mobile services accessible in accordance with the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz, BFSG) and its implementing ordinance (BFSGV). The basis is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, conformance level AA, and the harmonised European standard EN 301 549. As a microenterprise, we are exempt from the accessibility requirements under Section 3(3) BFSG; we nevertheless meet them voluntarily because we want our service to be accessible to everyone.
Description of the service
Ace is a platform for tennis clubs and players. Via the website playace.de, the web application and the mobile apps, consumers can in particular create a user account, book courts, find playing partners, take part in tournaments and rankings, and take out and cancel paid subscriptions such as Ace Premium.
How the service works:
- Sign up or log in with an email address and password
- Select the desired service, for example a court booking or a subscription
- For paid services: review all details, place the order via a clearly labelled button and pay via our payment service provider
- Confirmation of the booking or order in the application
- Manage and cancel at any time in your user account or via the cancellation button at playace.de/kuendigen
Conformance status
This website and the associated web application are currently partially conformant with the requirements of WCAG 2.1 AA. We regularly review accessibility and continuously fix identified barriers.
Measures taken
We meet the accessibility requirements of the BFSGV by applying WCAG 2.1 AA and EN 301 549. To this end we have implemented the following measures, among others:
- Skip links to the main content
- Colour contrast according to WCAG AA (at least 4.5:1 for normal text)
- Keyboard operability of interactive elements and dialogs
- Accessible names and labels for controls and form fields
- Respect for reduced motion (prefers-reduced-motion)
- Visible keyboard focus indicators with sufficient contrast
- Localised labels in German, English and Dutch
Known limitations
Despite careful review, individual barriers may remain, in particular with:
- Content uploaded by members or clubs, such as images without alternative text
- Embedded third-party content and services beyond our control
- Older documents and downloads that have not yet been fully revised
We are continuously working to remove these limitations.
Preparation of this statement
This statement was prepared on the basis of a self-assessment. The review included automated tests as well as manual checks of keyboard operability, colour contrast, semantics and heading structure. Date of review: October 2026.
